When coming up with the idea for my Studio 1 project, I knew that I wanted to create an environment, but I didn't know exactly what kind of environment that would be. Talking with the professor last quarter really helped me narrow my idea down to something more tangible.
Since I felt more confident in my hard-surface modeling skills, I decided that I wanted to focus more on the organic side of the environment for this project. So I decided to create a forest scene, which would give me more practice with foliage and terrain.
The scene is of a cabin in the woods. But since I had seen a lot of similar scenes done before, I wanted to make sure that mine would be unique and would be a bit more interesting. I also wanted to get more exposure to different types of foliage and terrain variations.
So I decided to use the photo below as my main reference, but also add some things to the environment.

The first thing I wanted to add was a sort of weather controlling machine on the roof of the cabin. The basic idea is that the environment will be a snowy setting, but because of the machine, the area around the cabin itself would be green and lush.
I also wanted to add some perimeter security around the cabin. This would be a basic camera model placed on the trees around the cabin, as well as tripwires hidden among the trees.
Below is the reference document I have collected for this project.
